Aroma Espresso Bar is an international espresso bar chain best known for its gourmet, espresso-based beverages. When Aroma expanded their range of products to include a frozen yogurt series, they needed to publicly announce their exciting new addition. To help them kick off their promotional campaign, Aroma reached out to their trusted design agency, Squat New York.
After jumping into the minds of yogurt fans, we gave life to six chic human personas for each of the six fruit toppings: Sweet Banana, Dainty Strawberry, Crazy Blackberry, Groovy Carob, and Cool Berries. Giving them personalities fitted to their names helped the brand engage customers on a more personal level.
Now when a visitor walks in, they might choose a topping based on their mood that day or how they relate to its character. They can emotionally interact with the product, even buying a pin with their favorite character’s face. We took this interactive experience a step further by adding the playful phrase to the container design: “What kind of frozen yogurt are you?”
You can now find posters and window decal of each charming character in Aroma’s stores across the US. Thanks to the campaign, Aroma’s sales increased by 50% in the period of one week. And visitors simply can’t help posting their yogurt creations on social media when the characters are so “cute.”
